Atom transfer radical polymerization directly from poly(vinylidene fluoride): Surface and antifouling properties

The direct preparation of grafting polymer brushes from commercial poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) films with surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) is demonstrated. The direct initiation of the secondary fluorinated site of PVDF facilitated grafting of the hydrophilic monomers from the PVDF surface. Homopolymer brushes of 2‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) and poly (ethylene glycol) monomethacrylate (PEGMA) were prepared by ATRP from the PVDF surface. The chemical composition and surface topography of the graft‐functionalized PVDF surfaces were characterized by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, attenuated total reflectance/Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and atomic force microscopy. A kinetic study revealed a linear increase in the graft concentration of poly[2‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate] (PDMAEMA) and poly[poly(ethylene glycol) monomethacrylate] (PPEGMA) with the reaction time, indicating that the chain growth from the surface was consistent with a controlled or living process. The living chain ends were used as macroinitiators for the synthesis of diblock copolymer brushes. The water contact angles on PVDF films were reduced by the surface grafting of DMAEMA and PEGMA. Protein adsorption experiments revealed a substantial antifouling property of PPEGMA‐grafted PVDF films and PDMAEMA‐grafted PVDF films in comparison with the pristine PVDF surface. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. STRONG LAW OF LARGE NUMBERS AND ASYMPTOTIC EQUIPARTITION PROPERTY FOR NONSYMMETRIC MARKOV CHAIN FIELDS ON CAYLEY TREES

Some strong laws of large numbers for the frequcncies of occurrence of states and ordered couples of states for nonsymmetric Markov chain fields(NSMC)on Cayley trees are studied.In the proof,a new technique for the study of strong liinit theorems of Markov chains is extended to the case of Markov chain fields.The asymptotic equiparti- tion properties with almost everywhere(a.e.)convergence for NSMC on Cayley trees are obtained.     

热丝CVD生长金刚石薄膜喇曼散射研究

本文报道热丝化学气相沉积法（ＨＦＣＶＤ）生长金钢石薄膜的喇曼散射结果。选取多种峰型，对金钢石薄膜喇曼谱（１１０－１８００ｃｍ－１）采用最小二乘法进行非线性拟合，得到最佳拟合模型，其计算得到的拟合曲线怀实验谱图符合得较好。该模型揭示，石墨Ｄ峰（１３５５ｃｍ－１）是金刚石薄膜喇曼谱中不可缺少的一个组份，并且结合石墨Ｄ峰和金刚石喇曼的空间相关线型，可以解释金刚石喇曼区特殊峰形的物理机制，拟合参量的进一步

The measurements of correlation times of molecules adsorbed on silica gel,alumina and charcoal using NOESY and MAS NMR

The correlation times (τ_c) and cross relaxation rates of toluene, dimethylformamide, tetrahydrofuran, water-acetone and water-dioxane adsorbed on silica gel, alumina and charcoal were obtained by measurements of the integrated intensities of cross and diagonal peaks in their NOESY spectra. The (τ_c) of the above mentioned systems is in the range of 10^?6?10^?9 s, much longer than that in the liquid (10^?12?10^?14 s). It was found that intramolecular rotation of toluene adsorbed on charcoal is slower than that on SiO₂, Al₂O₃ and the inversion of α and β protons in tetrahydrofuran is very fast (τ_c = 1.76×10^?9 s). The cross relaxation plays an important role in the relaxation of molecules adsorbed on solid surfaces with low electron densities.
